Man has it been a while

Wow, it has been forever since I have had a chance to update. I missed you guys, that's for sure.

Last Wednesday, my seaweed and algae class headed to the Keys for a research trip. I snorkeled on the reefs, swam with sharks, climed rock walls, scaled actual walls to get into a facility that was closed but as my teacher said, "we were grandfathered in, and come here every year since 1964." I said it was still burglary, but I was one of the two that "broke in" LOL! My cell phone took a swim too, man is that a bummer, lost all my numbers, pictures, and ringtones. But, all in all, it was a grand time, we headed back to G'ville Saturday.

Whew-hoo! Hot damn did the Gators stomp the Seminoles! 34 - 7 was the final score, and it took them 53 minutes to get on the score board. I was hoping for a shut out, but I will definately settle for a good stomping! After I took my online quiz and got a 100, I headed to Mom's house. We did Thanksgiving on Sunday since I was out of town. It was grand! We laid out a spread like you would not believe! I did not get much done in the way of homework, being out of town for 5 days, and I did not have internet... I thought I was gonna die without it, but alas, I survived. It was the worst with out BOTH internet AND cell phone.

This is how I feel with school right now... Highway to the danger zone... haha now you have that song in your head... go watch Topgun, you know you wanna... (as the song suggests or Mission Impossible as the picture would insinuate)

I had a test on Monday, don't know how well I did (well being an A in my book), I did not study near as much as usual, due to the whole out of town thing. I have a final tomorrow in Stat II.... DUN DUN DUN ... I am not looking forward to it. I went to tutoring zone for 5 hours of this crap jammed into my head, and I think I will just pull an all nighter. Maybe I will pass... (pass being above a C in my book) Then I have a Final Saturday, and a final on December 12th. Whew... I have been a busy girl!

I just look at this picture, it is justification for higher education.... lol!

I got my plane tickets to go see my family in Alabama or Abalama as I say... It should be fun. I can't wait to see my sister and brother, and they have horses, I love horses!

Well, I have not had time to surf the net for cool stuff, so this is a pretty boring post I am sure. I am still working on those shooting photos...

I got my classes for next semester... I was finally able to get a seat in Spanish... It is a 5 credit hour class with like 5 book requirements. Total, I am in rolled in 8 credit hours. That is two more than I am used to. This should be interesting. I go to school every day, first thing in the morning and then straight to work.

Thought for the day: It's easy to make a buck, but hard to make a difference. ~Tim Brokaw

Useless fact of the day: Armored knights raised their visors to identify themselves when they rode past royalty. This custom has evolved into the modern military salute.

.... since Dano isn't updating for a while, I am going to be a blog burglar also (winks at Carmel)... I miss you Dano!

50 Stars anyone?

I apologize if I am scarce until finals are done... I just have to focus on school. And somehow find time to sleep. I have not been to bed before midnight in weeks it seems.

Blog ya later folks. I hope you all had a blessed holiday, and if not holiday, just a great day in general!

I just looked at the Wizards of Winter, all I can say is OMG! That's my house!! OK i'm lying, I wish ;) That was nothing short of amazing! I laughed the whole time though. Boy have you had a busy time away, I should go away too.
I have been snorkeling too but if I saw a shark I dunno if I would be here to tell the story. You are braver than me, I did swim with some beautiful blue fishies.
Nice to hear all is well, love the mousey pic. And it's been nice to know i'm not the only blog burglar around :D

Update soon....

...I promise. I just returned from my research trip to the keys, and then my Mom's for a late thanksgiving dinner. I had no internet for 5 days, and that part was not so fun...

Other than that, I had a blast! I will tell you all about it, but now I have to study my ars off for a test tomorrow. I will try to update from work tomorrow. I hope that you all had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, and if you do not celebrate it, I hope your day was wonderful anyways!

I have missed you guys, I can't wait to read everything that has been going on in your lives! Blog ya later.

Aweembahway

Now that I have successfully gotten that song stuck in your head... go ahead you know you want to sing it... I won't laugh!

Check out the new virtual pet... Patrick, I thought you might like him!

Please send a warm farwell to my blog friend Dano. After a long and glorious blogging carreer, he has decided to take a break, or make a break from the blog world. We shall miss you Dano!

So it twas another busy, yet exciting weekend in the small world of Heather. I had a research experiment to conduct, and write a paper on. I chose an archival study, as I have plenty of archives at my fingertips... (being a records specialist has its perks!) I did some research on gender playing a role in Domestic Battery. I hypothesized the number of male aggressors would be significantly greater than the number of female aggressors. The hardest part of this paper, was figuring out which statistical test to analyze my data with.

Seaweed/algae class was not bad Saturday. I found something on one of my slides... something my teacher has not previously run across. He offered to let me assist him in the research process, I happily accepted, as any research assistance will look grand on my grad school application!

Was still feeling pretty rough when I got home, so I took a nap and headed over to Ruth's to work on my paper. My back was kicking something fierce. I stayed at her house, as Lar was working nights this weekend, and need a quiet house to sleep in on Sunday.

Sunday we headed over to Lake Walhberg (a UF Lake) for a Golden Key lunch, and cannoeed (that looks really wierd cannoeed...?) It was neat, I was able to collect a few more fresh water Algae samples... which I just realized that I left in her car... Dammit! That was not a good idea for my back, but it was fun.

I would not suggest doing it this way.... but I guess it is one way to get our attention. I do believe that filing a false police report is a felony... I would have to check on it though...

Last night, I could not sleep for anything. I lay awake coughing all night. And now my rib hurts, on the right side just below my breast. It hurts to caugh, or breath in too deep. Everything else is fine, but this cough just won't quit. It is that deep bronchitis cough. My coworkers say that you can break a rib coughing... I am not sure I buy into this though.

Today I turn in my paper... I don't know when we will get our grades back. I leave this week for our field trip to the keys. My family is going to have Turkey day on Sunday since I will not be here. I was thankful, as it is one of my favorite holidays. Sweet Potato cassorole is my favorite.

I am excited! Ruth's 21 birthday is this weekend, we won't be able to celebrate till the following weekend, but man oh man, are we gonna have fun~ I have got to figure out what to get her...

Well folks... I must get back to it...

Useless fact of the day: In honor of Dano... I shall use his favorite trivia site... 4 the Record

SOOOO SICK...

As promised Gator wrestling... drum roll please!

Sorry I have not been on much lately. I have been so very ill. I broke down and went to the doctor Tuesday, I was running a fever, and had a grocery list of illnesses. 4 perscriptions and 3 days off work and school later, I am still feeling pretty rough. Last week was nothing compared to this.

So I am at work now and it is friday... Don't have a lot of time to update, but wanted to post something. I have missed blogging.

I am feeling a little better. I still don't feel great... Does it ever end?

I will post the shooting pics soon, Lar was supposed to put them in the shared folder, and as of last night they were not there.

Been meaning to post this one for a while... Thanks Carmel

Useless Fact of the day-

In the four major US professional sports (baseball, basketball, football, and hockey), there are only seven teams whose nicknames do not end with an "S." Basketball: The Miami Heat, The Utah Jazz, The Orlando Magic. Baseball: The Boston Red Sox, The Chicago White Sox. Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche, The Tampa Bay Lightning. Football: None.

Thought for the day: He who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.

Some things have changed, I believe for the better. A and I have decided to be friends rather than intimate. I have too much on my plate right now for a serious relationship, and that was not fair to him. Also, I felt as though we were heading in two different directions with our lives. It was nice to date someone who was not a complete asshole though. Compared to some of the guys I have picked, he was a doll. I wish him luck in his future endevors, and hope he finds the happiness he deserves. And so I am single, once again. I am okay with this.

Oh, By the way, I have added an AMBER Alert ticker under my profile information. Working in Law Enforcement we see way too many of these. If you have room on your blog, please get one. The quicker we can spread the word when a child is abducted, the better chance we have at saving them. To get an AMBER ticker, go to this sight

and click on "Get a ticker." It gives you the option to put in your email, you don't have to, then click get a ticker, and it gives you html code, that goes into your template. I used a shorter one because it fit. We can all do our part with little or no effort. I ask you to consider this small task. It could be your child, or a child you know that it helps save.

Oh i'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well! I have been tired and very unispired to write lately, maybe it's the universe gone weird! ;)
Thanks for that amber ticker, im going to attempt to put it on my blog. I can't think of anything worse than those abduction stories, it's scary, I wont tell you what I would like to do with some of abductors.
And look at you with that gator! I would be freaking out!
The Heather monster eats hitchhikers and tortures anthropologists, maybe that's why I havent seen any around lately.
Take care, sorry to hear about youa and A , i'm sure you both have had positive effects in each others lives.
GET BETTER!!....Oh let us know how your grandma is!!

One Hell of a Weekend!

Man do I have an update in store for you guys! Wow, was it an action packed weekend!

I worked late on Friday, which made getting up early Saturday a bitch, but boy was it worth it. We headed to St. Augustine, where we stopped first at the Alligator farm to collect Algae specimans off the Alligators. You have to get really close to an alligator to get algae off of it. I am now an alligator wrestler. I have some pics, but not the good ones, those have not been emailed to me yet. They will be soon to follow I hope!

We used an African Alligator as our species, as she was covered in Algae. We renamed her an Algaegator rather than an Alligator. After the very exciting capture, we moved the gator from the exhibit, to behind the scenes, were we began our study. The first pic you see is one of the girls from my class, holding her down, and me on her tail, while the teacher pulls aglae from her tail. I hopped on next, and someone else took pics.

After we finished with the African Alligator, we headed over to the Alligator pit. There were anywhere from 50-60 HUGE Alligators in this pit. As you can see, there is one large fella less than 5 feet behind us. Folks, we are in the exhibit, no glass, no safety net... just us and the gators. It was so cool. How many people do you know, can say they have wrestled with an Alligator? haha that's great.

After the Alligator farm, we headed over to the hidden conquinas. These are large smooth rocks, that are often hidden by the tide. The rocks are actually made from crushed up shells cemented together by mother nature. In these rocks there are large round holes borrowed by some other type of crustation. It was neat let me tell you. We collected all kinds of cool specimans from there, not to mention got to play in the water.

Dr. D and his wife took us all to lunch. We went to this place called manzanna's or something. It was great. We had Oysters (steamed) chicken wings, peal and eat shrimp, and our entree's. I got the lunch portion of the fried shrimp. I have been dying for some Oysters for some time now! It was heavenly.

Then back to G'ville we headed. We took our specimans to the lab, and headed home. I got home around 1830.

A, Lar, Ruth and I all went to dinner at Fridays, and then headed back to the house for some icey beverages, and played cards till the wee hours of the morning. Sunday came all too soon! Once we finally rolled out of bed, A and I went to grab a bite to eat, and headed to the 24th annual Art's festival in G'ville. We only got to spend an hour browsing, but it was very cool. I could have spent 5 there, and still not seen it all!

We had to hurry back to the house, because it was my Uncle's and my cousin's birthday this week, so they were having dinner. This turned into shooting skeet, a bonfire, and dinner. Ruth has never shot skeet before, and it has been a while since I had. We had a blast!!! I have pics of that too, which I can post tonight.

I found this on Carmel's blog...

I thought it was very cool!

One of the benefits of being in my Algae class, is that the rest of the class are nerds too! Cool nerds, but nerds none the less. They were helping me come up with more useless facts. I had to bust out my notebook and write a few of these puppies down!

A headed back down to Orlando this morning. It was a pretty good weekend I thought. Action packed and full of adventure. I will have a much quieter weekend this weekend coming up. I have a paper due on Monday... EKKK! Homebody Heather will be my name!

Useless fact of the day: Did you know that a Blue Whale's heart is as large as a small car, it's blood vessels are large enough that a person could swim down them, and it's tale, called a fluke, is the size of a small plane?

Thought for the day: I am happy and content because I think I am. ~ Alain-Rene Lesage

Well folks that is about it for now. More to come, including shooting pics, when I get my hands on my own computer. Blog ya later.

'Tis Veteran's Day

First of all, a thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, to all of our soldiers, past and present. It is you that we owe our freedom, You are in my heart, today, and always.

I think that every country should take time to thank their soldiers. For it is upon their shoulders that our great countries were built. It was their blood, sweat, and tears....

My Grandfather (my stepmom's dad,) that just passed away, was a prisoner of war for 3 years in Vietnam. My Papa (Mom's dad) fought in the Korean war, is a retired Detroit Police Officer, and a retired Florida Corrections Officer. My Father's dad, my father and my mother were all in the Navy. My Great Grandfather was in the Navy and was a Detroit Police Officer. And that brings the line to me, I work in Law Enforcement, have for almost 5 years. I wish to carry on the legacy to be an officer of the law, but I fear that my knee injury is going to prohibit this. I struggle with this.

I am feeling somewhat better today. Not great, but not nearly as bad as I was. I can breath, and contrary to popular belief, breathing is NOT overrated.

A moved back to Orlando today. He came over last night, and I saw him off today. It was so quick. My thoughts hardly had time to catch up with reality. It should not be too bad, as he is coming back to see me Saturday night. I am kinda new at the whole label thing, with dates and what not, I did not realize that you were supposed to celebrate month anniversary's (does a month even count as an anniversary - ann - annual....) anyhow, Our 1 month is Saturday, we are celebrating, so I am excited... It feels kinda high school, but eh, you only live once.

After this weekend will be the real test. It will be a week until I see him again. We should be fine. With the end of the semester nearing, I have oodles of homework to do, tests to study for, papers to write.... Wow, I have a lot of shit to do!

Saturday my seaweed class heads to St. Augustine. I am totally stoked. We are going 3 places. I don't remember the first one, the second is the alligator farm, and finally we will head to the hidden conquinas to collect specimens and shells at low tide. This should be tons of fun! I got some cool diagrams from last week. We drew what we saw under the microscope, identified and labeled them. I even colored mine. (yeah, I told you I am one of those students)

The never ending Ick

Impression, Sunrise
Claude Monet

I found that on one of Patrick's many blogs. Thanks Patrick! I think that fits for me, Monet is my favorite!

I seem to have contracted the never ending ick! I still feel terrible, stuffy nose, scratch throat, headache, body ache, tummy ache... I feel just Icky!

I really have come to enjoy the taste of Dayquil, it soothes everything on the way down, coating all the raw surfaces...

Ode to dayquil,
my knight in shining armor
just when I thought I could not take anymore
down the hatch you pour

the soothing burn
the stomach's churn
The nostril's yearn
to breath without sturggle

the sweet orange mint aroma
is all that I can smell
it makes me feel so well...
so this is the story I tell...

Ode to dayquil

Yeah... I think the cold medicine has made me slightly groggy. lol!

Last night, I called A without warning, and asked him to come take care of me. 1. this is very much not like me, 2. wow, this was very much not like me...

He dropped everything, stopped by the store and bought me gatorade, lipton noodle soup, rye bread, and a rose... Brought them over, and we watched movies all evening. It was nice to have someone to lean on, to be able to be around someone at my very worst, and still have them think you are perfect...

Work today is never ending... I have been trying to update on again off agian all day... and I am going crazy with the dot dot dots... I think it is my inability to think straight at this point. I am just out of it. I guess that is okay.

I plan on going to the hizouse after work, doing a bit of homework and hitting the every comfy sack!

Useless fact of the day: In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase "goodnight, sleep tight."

Bet Ya didn't know that one huh?

DayQuil

Hey my keyboard did not come standard with one of those, is this some sort of new upgrade? If not perhaps they should consider it. That and the "any" key. There have actually been tech support calls on that, when it says to press any key, they have called to ask where the any key is.... lol!

Thank the lord for Dayquil! I am so sick it is not even funny! I can hardly hold my head up, but here I am at work... Trying to make it, then class, then bed...

I had a great weekend. Where to start... Saturday I was up at the harry ass crack of dawn for seaweed/algae class. We went to four different lakes and a creek to collect fresh water samples. It was really fun. Then back to the lab for identification and drawing. We got done fairly early, and I called A, who promptly headed to my house.

We got the gang together for dinner and pool. Beef O' Brady's was good, we watched some of the Gator game there, then finished it up at Silver Q... I was biting my nails. We went into double over time... The headlines in the paper the next day read Gator football needs a M*A*S*H unit, like 8 or 9 of our first string players either injured themselves, or reinjured themselves... One broken leg, on broken rib, several ankle and knee injuries. We won, thank goodness... There was NO reason to lose to Vanderbilt.... NO REASON... I could not believe that we even went into OT... That is crazy.

Pool was fun, Ruth was a trip, we played match maker for Larry, but I will let him tell you about that! (hint hint nudge nudge, oh yeah he is not good with hints, so how bout plain text... Larry needs to update!) I think it went well. I drank a little too much... but not so much that I got sick, so it was all gravy. Sunday rolled around, and I got to sleep in... till 12! We got up, and made breakfast/lunch... fried potatoes, bacon, pancakes, and grits... It was a team effort by me and Larry... It went over smashingly well... (there were four of us at the breakfast table... a full house...)

I read some psych, took the quiz and got 100... then headed over for some volley ball. I was starting to feel pretty crappy by then , but I was hoping that it was just because I drank... Larry's dad put together a fish fry for dinner and invited me, so A got to meet that side of my family... It was like a mini family reunion... I am hoping that he was not overwhelmed. This is the side of the family that just accepts you for who you are, open arms, glad that you could come. He does not eat fish, but Aunt Elsie made a pork roast. Now I love a fish fry, but by then I was hardly able to eat anything. Uncle Larry made me try roe, not sure if I spelled it right, but it is fish eggs, still inside the sack, breaded and fried. EWWWWWWWWWW.... they tried to make me try mullet gizzard, but I was not up for it. That is when Uncle Larry proceeded to tell me yesterday's useless fact... LOL!

Home we headed, and glad I was... I was getting sicker by the minute. A headed home, and I hit the sack, with the aid of some nyquil, nasal spray, and tylenol sinus.

There are going to be some changes here around the corner in my romantic life, but I think it is for the better. A is moving back to Orlando, to be closer to his son, and finish out school without having to kill himself while working too. He will be able to come up on the weekends, to see me, which he apparently cleared with Larry before even asking me... Everyone seems to like him, and that is good, because I do too! I think it will be hard, but worth it. And it has it's benefits too, I will get more homework done during the week if I am not trying to go to see him on Thursdays. He says he understands that I will have homework on the weekends, and he may have to entertain himself. Eventually, I will have to go to Orlando to meet his parents and his son. I am slightly nervous, not about the parents but his son.

I love children, so winning him over should not be a problem, but allowing myself to get attached may be. The last time I was involved with a man that had a child, well lets just say I did not just lose a fiance', but a son as well. I raised him for 2.5 years, he called me momma, and surrogate mothers don't have any rights when it comes to split ups....

Useless fact of the day: (since it is relevant to how I am feeling) A cough releases an explosive charge of air that moves at speeds up to 60 miles per hour

Thought for the day:

well that is it for today...

Sickly

I am sickly today... So this will be just a brief update.

My grandmother went to the hospital for surgery as planned, but some things happened, and they opted not to do the surgery today. Thanks for all the prayers and support on that! I will let you know when it is rescheduled.

I had a great weekend, which I will tell you all about later. For now, I am going to hit the sack. I have class tonight, so I figured I might catch a nap before, and maybe feel a little better for three hours of lecture.

I do have a useless fact for you today: Mullet is the only fish that has a gizzard, and until about the 1950's you had to have a bird license to catch them, as they were classified as a bird not a fish.

There is a story behind the useless fact, but I just don't have the energy to type that much.

I will update later, or tomorrow.

The Passing of a Hero

Charles Chibitty, 84, last of the Comanche code talkers from World War II, died July 20.

He became a legend in the Army, as well as in his native Comanche tribe in Oklahoma.

Charles Chibitty, 84, the last of the Comanche “code talkers,” died July 20 this year in Tulsa, Okla. He also reportedly was the last hereditary chief of the Comanche, having descended from the great leader, Chief Ten Bears.

“Code talkers” is the term used to describe Soldiers from various Indian tribes who communicated on radios, telephones and telegraph during World Wars I and II. They spoke in their own languages and dialects, many of which were not written down and all of which were indecipherable by enemy forces. Chibitty was among the 17 Comanche code talkers who served throughout the European Theater during World War II with the 4th Signal Company, 4th Infantry Division.

Since there were many military words that had no meaning in the Comanche language, Chibitty and other Soldiers had to invent their own unique military lingo. For example, they used the Comanche word for “turtle” to signify “tank.”

Chibitty saw plenty of fighting during the landings at Utah Beach during the D-Day Normandy invasion in June 1944. He immediately put his skills to use, directing aircraft and naval gunfire to targets and informing other Comanche code breakers at higher headquarters of the tactical situation on the ground and relaying information back to his unit commander.

Chibitty survived the landings and saw a lot more action throughout France and during the Battle of the Bulge. He and his unit were among the first Americans to liberate Paris and later to enter Germany. In addition to code talking, Chibitty became a champion boxer in the Army. Later in life, he became a much acclaimed and prize-winning Comanche war dancer.

The French presented Chibitty and other Comanche code talkers with their second-highest medal for valor, the Chevalier de L’Ordre National du Merite.

In 1999, the Department of Defense recognized Chibitty, who was then 78, and the last surviving member of the Comanche code talkers. He was honored in the Hall of Heroes inside the Pentagon for his extraordinary bravery and achievements.

At the ceremony, he didn’t dwell much on his own combat actions, preferring rather to speak of the achievements of his fellow Comanche code talkers. He recounted the story of one code talker who was wounded in the back with shrapnel. That Soldier refused to be evacuated to the rear and continued to fight and code talk. His wounds were treated and he survived the war. Other Comanche code talkers were wounded as well, but all survived the fighting.

In other news, I went to A's last night and had a blast. He made BLT's for dinner (my favorite!) and I got to play with a 3-4 week old kitten, held an iguana named the igganator (see photos below) we talked, and watched part of Star Wars III. Sadly we did not get to finish it, as I had to be up at the crack of dawn for a 12 hour shift today.

This is a terrible picture of me, but the lizard is cute, and A's not looking to bad either... I really need a digital camera. My camera phone does some wierd shit. Look how red I look, I am not pink at all, I am probably the fairest toned person you'll run into, well other than an albino.

My Mema is going in for surgery on Monday. She has had back problems since she had my mother. It is to the point now that it inhibits her walking. She is in excrutiating pain, so the doctor had her do an MRI, got her in for her appointment two days early, and scheduled her for Surgery Monday... I have taken the day off. I am worried, and would ask for prayers for her. It was around a year ago that she was rushed into emergency surgery for another medical problem that could have claimed her life. I will keep you posted on the details and recovery.

Still no word on my Methods test. I am getting worried. They Usually always have these things posted by Wednesday night... It is now Friday... Oh, it's Friday... I had not even realized until just then. Ha!

I have seaweed/ algae class tomorrow. I think we are just going to areas around here, lakes and ponds, to collect fresh water specimans, then back to the lab to identify and mount. I am not sure though... This class is so wierd, wierd but fun!

Useless fact of the day: The hundred billionth crayon made by Crayola was Perriwinkle blue.

5 minutes

gotta go to class in five minutes...

Today is Thursday, I am happy, it means
  1. Tomorrow is Friday
  2. No more math classes after today
  3. I get to go see A
  4. Tomorrow is Friday
I was alseep by 2130 last night... I laid down at 9 and started reading, I had taken a benadryl for my allergies, and within 22 minutes I was falling asleep, so I shut my light off, disregarded my conscience telling me I need to study, and was out with in 5 minutes.

Sleep was good.

One of my coworkers brought me a happy bunny magnent, it says "let's focus on me"... I hope that people really don't view me like that.

Well gotta run... more later maybe.

Unsual Urinal...

Is that one girl holding a measuring tape???

Well, I ended up with an 80 on my stat II test. This means I will have to make a 95 on the final to keep an A in the class. I can do it... I can do it.... I can do it... I will not let myself get behind in this section. After work today, I am going home and I am going to start on the problems. Well, after I go help my grandparents fix their electronics (again.) And if there is something I don't understand, I am going to make him explain it.

I currently have a 97 in my Methods class. My test from Monday has not been posted yet. I have an alright feeling about it, but even so, I have a little leway in there.

I taught at the inservice today. I was not nearly as nervous this time, I got up and started talking and then that was it over before I knew it. I think they got it, if not there is always blondestar (the cops nicknamed me blondestar, always on, cause you're always blonde...) What is funny about that, is that I am the service - and they are calling me with questions... reversal of roles or something? LOL!

Ever want to tell someone to pull their head out of their ass... perhaps you should rethink, that looks a little more painful, and you don't have to get your foot dirty! LOL

Well tomorrow is Thursday, after class I am heading over to A's for dinner. I am not sure what we are having. We are going to watch Star Wars episode III, so I am excited. I saw it twice in the theater. Untill a couple of weeks ago he had not seen any of the new ones. That is CRAZY! It should be a nice relaxing evening!

My car still smells like gas... this is unfortunate! It gives me a headache every time I am in it for more than a few minutes. How long does it take gas to go away. I have sprayed it with febreeze, left my trunk open for it to air out.... rode with all the windows down, resprayed it with febreeze... Oh well, it will go away eventually.

what a way to start November!

A friend of mine took these on the way into town this morning. This is the sky line for our littly town... Pretty breath taking.

what is even more uncanny is that it is very similar to our city emblem...

how neat is that?

Just thought I would share!

It's November now!

Thanks Dano for this cool link!

You are the Sun card. The light of the Sun reveals all. The Sun is joyful and bright, without fear or reservation. The childish nature of the Sun allows you to play and feel free. Exploration can truly take place in the light of day when nothing is hidden. The Sun's rays fill you with energy so that you may live life to its fullest, milking pleasure out of each day. Such joy and energy can bring wealth and physical pleasure. To shine in the light of day is to have confidence, to soak up its rays is to feel the freedom of a child.

I will find out how poorly I did on my Stat test today... I don't even want to know.

I think I did fairly well on my psych test considering how little I was able to study. I focused so hard on stats, that I got very behind in my methods class. I spent all day Sunday trying to catch up... I had a lot to read, and then was only able to actually review for a short period. I flexed out some OT yesterday and met this chick from my class to study an hour before the test. That hour really helped. The few questions that he did mention after the test was over I got correct. I will hopefully find out before the end of the week. He also gave our hard copy papers back. I did not have any grammatical Errors, and the points he did take off were bull shit, but oh well, a 90 is still an A right?

Last night was Halloween. I got out of class early and headed to CVS to buy some candy. Got home, turned all the lights on, left the door cracked, and happily awaited the arrival of trick-or-treaters... I did not get one! I was very very sad! I was able to finish my materpiece.

This is what it looked like when I started:
And this is how it looks now, I have been blogging for over a year, and have changed my skin a few times, and I have NEVER, until last night, been able to code for comments... I did it! They work! I also added the view my complete profile, a photo, the pet, links, an about me section... I just did all kinds of shit, NOT to mention changing the photo at the top and adding a title to the photo! I am totally stoked! Check out A's new blog, in part my masterpiece, and in part his creation:

How exciting is that? Well you may not find it exciting, but I find html code both challenging and fun, but also aggravating when you can't make it work, but then that much more gratifying when you do get it to work!

In the spirit of Halloween, since I did not leave a useless fact yesterday: Did you know that bats always turn left when exiting a cave?

The polls are in for College football, The Gators rose to 16, the Dawgs dropped to 11, and Alabama slid into their spot at number 4... sorry A... (he's a Dawgs fan.... who we just happened to cream on Saturday.... GOOOOOO GATORS!!!!!!) Tennessee dropped out of the top 25 completely! and I don't remeber the rest.

Today is Tuesday! It is supposed to be my do Nothing day! I don't think it is going to work out. I will probably end up having to finish up a powerpoint for another inservice tomorrow. I will have to finish it up from home, but hopefully that won't take all evening. I am seriously going to bed by no later than 10 pm tonight. I swore I would do it yesterday, and did not make it!

Well back to work!
